2020 Soloist Application Form
If your daughter is interested in dancing as a soloist in this years show, please read through what each role entails and decide which one would suit your family scheduling the best. Please be aware that soloist rehearsals are a very busy time and soloists will need to commit to the times below when they apply. There will be a production fee of $30 per Soloist Role.
Main Leads: Every Sunday Term Two; Term Three and Term Four, for at least 1 hour.
Secondary Lead: Every second/third Sunday Term Two, Three and Term Four for up to 1 hour.
All Soloists: These roles will be learnt via Videos on Movitae. The students will send videos of themselves doing their role for the tutors to check. Will be required to come in to the studio every second/third Sunday Term Three and Term Four/leading up to the show.
Mother Role: These roles will be learnt via Videos on Movitae. The students will send videos of themselves doing their role for the tutors to check. Will be required to come in to the studio every second/third Sunday end of Term Three and leading up to the show in Term Four.
Students who have been given Solos or Mother type Roles are expected to attend the class that they are dancing with in the last two weeks before the show. This is so the little ones bond and feel comfortable with who will be dancing with them on stage and they can learn to follow their Mother/Head instead of the teacher.
Unfortunately in the past we have had to swap Mothers/Heads at the last minute due to them not retaining the choreography. This is always a LAST resort as we as much as the parents and students want them to go and dance onstage. However it would be very unfair to the student if we sent them onstage knowing they didn’t know what to do, they could get stage fright for the rest of their lives. Please make sure your daughter/s are aware of this though we shall always do our utmost to ensure they know their work. Parents will need to come in to rehearsals in the last five minutes to video the choreography, for them to practise at home.
Good luck for all students applying for Solo Roles for this year’s show. All Solo Roles are additional to the student’s normal class role and they will dance as scheduled in the Cast List. Please make sure they wear their normal dance uniform to every practise. If they miss two or more rehearsals then we are sorry but they will forfeit their solo role.
